Hello all, I used to own the 2006 GSXR 750 until my friend wrecked it...Right now my daily driven (borrowed) is 2006 honda cbr 600 RR.... Heres my question.. My friend is going to buy me a new bike since he wrecked mines, I was planning on the 2007 GSXR 750... Is there anything different between the years? It looks identical to me....I know that the 2007 GSXR 1000 comes with dual exhaust and other controls. I also went to go look at the 2007 Honda CBR 600RR the white one... It looks SWEET...Has anyone ridden both of the 2007 bikes to let me know which one is better? The guy trying to sell me the 2007 honda kept saying this new model out performs the rest because of a whole new lighter bike and stronger motor along with electronic controlled steering dampers... Let me know please! I'm confused on which bike to get! Thanks in advance!

P.S. I miss my damn GSXR compared to my friends 2006 600 RR.....

600RR vs. Gixxer 750? Is there really a competition there? Go gixxer. I haven't ridden the 07 CBR, but I can't see it being a whole lot better than the 06

The 2006/2007 GSX-R750's are identical except for paint... and new blue/black color is sweet. Don't even think about the Honda, these new GSX-R's are untouchable IMO.

IMO honda's are very de-tuned and are for the most easy ride but once your skill increases the bike will have no more to offer you. If you want a easy to ride sport bike get a Honda if you want a beast for the street and or track get a Gixxer or even a Yamaha, I would say kawi but they still have yet to make a good chasis for their great motors.

i looked at the new 07 600 before i bought my 06 1k gsxr and everything is different from the 06 600rr to the 07 rr! They said they changed the frame, motor, steering dampner (big +) , plastics , color, and a few other things.

I read somewhere that the 2007 is shorter in height and smaller gas tank... True?

This is funny as hell.:lol Why would you actually concider the 600rr over the 750? Now if you said 07 600RR vs 06/07 GSX-R 600... Then you would have a good question. Just get the 750. You already know it's the best all round. Not to mention that it would walk all over a 600.:punk Do yourself a favor and get the Gixxer.:cheers

No there is no bias opinions here. Did you actually think anyone here would tell you to buy a honda. Especially when being compared to a 750, the best all around bike there is to own. Come on man! The honda cost more and the 750 has more hp. End of discussion.

You come on a Gixxer forum and ask if you should buy a '07 600RR or a '07 750. :scratch Pure sacrilege, you need to be drawn and quartered and burned at the stake.:cursing Man, if you have to ask, you should probably buy the 600RR.:hammer

J/K dude, but, come on. Did you really need to ask this question?:wacko

in all honesty, your friend wrecked your 750 and is willing to replace it. why would you get a bike thats almost a thousand dollars cheaper? go with the 750, and if u dont like it, then trade for a 600RR and get cash in your pocket.

2007 GSX-R1000 Dyno Info
We have our 2007 GSX-R1000's and we have put them on our Dynojet 250i Dyno. It is a brand new bike with 4 heat cycles and 30 miles worth of dyno time. The bikes are strapped down the same way and have 30psi in the stock tire.

The bike has VP 114 fuel. We use VP 114 because we know it is fresh and has no contaminates and it is extremely stable. 114 WILL NOT raise the hp. In fact it would make more (only very slightly) with pump gas.

Also, these are production bikes picked up at Ron Ayers Motorsports in Greenville, NC. They are not pre-production race team specials...

Here is what you are looking at:

Blue: Stock
Red: w/ LeoVince Slip-Ons
Green: w/ LeoVince Corsa Full System
Purple: LeoVince Corsa Full System w/ VP MR9 (87 octane)
Pink: 2006 GSX-R1000 Stock

I hate to say it, but the latest Sport Rider mag raves about the new CBR. It's now the lightest 600 and runs a 10.4 1/4 mile! I wouldn't pick it over the gixxer, but I can't deny that it's a great bike.

Take the 750, but if you were considering between 600's (any 600 on the market to date), then you should take the honda. Remember like someone said before, their is no replacement for displacement.

Well...

I've heard the mid-range on the new RRs is tons better than the previous version (aka before 07 models). I've also heard the handling is fantastic due to the loss of weight. IIRC, Hondas have the hardest seats on the planet. But the sad thing is I've also heard they've lost a little on the power curve. Can't go wrong with Honda reliability (bike will last you forever if you take care of her.. but then again, anything/everything will last forever provided you do your part). It really depends on what you want.

I would suggest you get what 'fits' you (unless of course you're modding and you know what you're doing). I tried to mount the 06 600RR and the ergos just didn't agree with me. The second I sat on my K6, I didn't want to get off (it just felt right, didn't feel like i was reaching too far forward... didn't feel like my legs where behind way way to low/behind me/up on my chest. I think this is by far the most important bike when buying and planning to keep the ergos stock. Not only will this exploit your natural bio-mechanics, but it will make for being able to ride comfortably for hours on end.

Remember, it's not what you look like standing still... but what you look like zooming by that catches people's eye (if you're into that sort of thing). I personally perfer feeling comfortable and confident then looking like king pimp.

good luck!

The 06 cbr600rr is totally different from the 07 cbr600rr. Ergonomics is better on the 07 cbr600rr. If it were 600 vs 600, I'd get the Honda. Since you are looking at a 750, I'd get the 750 and not even look at any 600s. I'm sure I'll get flamed on this but you asked for opinions.

I have yet to discover that... and I was simply using my experience as an example.
